Life Changing Gift

Saturday, September 6, 2008

im soo bored. with nothing to do at home, entertainment sucks except computer and sketchbook. a cool, breezy morning at first to now, a hot, humid day. ive been dreaming about having a band lately, calling ourselves 'A Sunset Silhouette'. i got the name from the word ASS.haha, okay, not funny.alright moving on, i dont know what i wanna be.i mean if there's the band. either guitarist, vocalist, drummer or both guitarist and vocalist. the thing is, i cant play the drums that well, nor the guitar nor even singing. this sucks when you dont know what you wanna be. i was inspired by  The Script and also the story of my cousin and his friends planning to have a band. Here's how the story goes, Shahrul Azmi(my cousin), and his friends have been talking in school about having a band. it was when i know that they were serious about music and actually opened a studio in his room. using pillows and a huge blanket or some sort of comforter, as soundproofs. the minute they start playing, i knew they have a future ahead of them. they were all equally talented. But then, a few years later(which happened last year), the band actually call it quits. Although they were on their seperate ways, they still travel together, spending time as usual friends, close friends. my cousin now, is a professional photographer.Go check his website at Shahrulazmi.com or flickr.com. For flickr.com, you have to type in 'input_output' to get to his profile/photostream. there, you can find amazing, spectacular photos of strobists, landscapes, flesh and more. i'd say he is SUPERBLY talented, he can draw, take superb photographs, play both the drums and guitar and even play soccer. one thing hate about him being a professional photographer is that he can get free/VIP passes to concerts, gigs, any such events easily. He is now the crew photographer by the local band By Definition. Yes, the band which entered some contest and were broadcasted on national tv. He,too, designs  for the band's album cover. he designed some cool t-shirts which is now for sale at Far East Plaza. He is my true inspiration. I wanna be like him one day and lately he has been my mentor for photography, telling me the do's and don't's. i can now just BORROW his Nikon D70 for any special events as he got his hands on his new D300(Nikon). the price of that thing is like S$2,999. i dont know how the hell he got that money. but yeah, he's cool. i dont think you'd be reading this post, hahaha, cause its looong. anw,now ive found what i wanna be by just writing on this post, which is to be like him! a photographer. it takes time though, but i dont need to fork out money to buy those cool stuffs like Holga or the lomo-thing that teens like me desperate for nowadays.Cause he got it all! especially his fish-eye lens that i like to use. ok,im done here.i'll post more tomorrow cause the mad scientist just brought his blog back!
tata readers.
